ABOUT THE DIRECTOR Ann Marie aka Jade has years of experience in show business, producing films, talent management, event coordinating, fundraising, and marketing research, as well as teaching, writing, theater directing and business administration. As the founder of DeafVision Filmworks, Inc. and Jade Films and Entertainment, LLC, one of her goals is to form an agency exclusively focused on producing fashion shows, coordinating model recruitment and managing talent. Jade studied film production at the Tisch School of the Arts at New York University where she earned the distinction of being the first DEAF African-American woman to graduate with a B.F.A. degree in 1993 in filmmaking. After years of being turned down numerous times for a career in production assistant, directing or producing role in the Film/Television industry, she formed her own production companies. More recently, Jade impressed celebrity judges on ABC's American Inventor, a national television show viewed by millions of people in June 2007. She advanced through three rounds and was a top three semi-finalist representing New York inventors. Her invention was the Ready-to-Wear Speaker Gear, which is available for buy-in or sponsorship. Jade's indestructible positive attitude and motto is, "If you have a passion for something, then keep doing what you love doing. You need to believe." She makes her home in New York City. To learn more about Jade, please visit my site: www.jadefilm.comQUOTE "There was no manual how to produce fashion shows, write my own scripts, direct my own movies, conceptualize ideas, invent something or set up my own production company; there were no guidelines to how things should be done. I didn't go to school for those things. I obtained intensive schooling by practice through a gift from my Creator for being a visionary with a creative mind, a vision and minored in FAITH. Those were the manuals and the guidelines." - Jade |
