Race/Ethnicity: Hispanic Height: 5'11" Maria del Rosario Lopez-Ocasio was born and raised in Ponce, Puerto Rico. She majored in Microbiology in PR and she is currently a first year Ph.D student at SUNY Downstate Medical Center in the Molecular and CellvBiology program. She would love to help more people in poor developing countries and help to eradicate diseases that attack their countries. Mariaks would love to work in a future for the CDC. That's why she is studying this profession. Also, she wants to orient other minority students to pursue the career that they feel passionate about. These are dreams that she would love to help make come true for them. During her free time, she likes to draw, paint, do some exercise and practice yoga. She loves to cook for her friends. She would love to become an experience epicure some day. People might think that she is a dreamer, but sometimes dreams can become true. |
