Maleni Chaitoo has been very dedicated to Jade Films/ DeafVision Filmworks' company for more than 10 years. She performed numerous duties as Jade's assistant, actor, and cameraperson. She also worked on two of Jade's documentary films, "On and Off Stage: The Bruce Hlibok Story" and "9/11 Fear in Silence: The Unforgotten Underdogs", and starred in a supporting role in her feature film, "Somalia". She participated at MICA Runway Fashion Show as model in May 2001, and as volunteer coordinator in June 2006.

She took a small role in a short film, "Def Freestyle", which is currently shown on IFC website; She has been panelist for the Interpreting for the Theater Institute at the Julliard School for 5 years. She is currently intern for Signs of Art Program at the Metropolitan Museum of Art. She is a native resident of New York City where her parents emigrated from rhythmic and vibrant islands of Trinidad and Tobago, West Indies. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from Gallaudet University in 2003 and a Graduate Certificate in Global Affairs from New York University in 2007. Performing arts is one of her inspirations.
